Western Philosophy believes that man is in control of his destiny.
Eastern philosophy believes man is subject to his destiny.

The aim of most western approaches for obtaining liberation, virtue of the absolute, enlightenment and freedom is to strengthen the ego, intergrade the self, correct one's image and build self confidence in order to prevent life from becoming a nightmare.

The aim of most eastern approaches is not to strengthen the ego but to completely and totally transcend the ego in order to obtain liberation, virtue of the absolute, enlightenment and freedom.
